Tizzi and Bruce’s Coastal Wedding

"Our Woodland theme was fantastic, and it worked well with getting married outside"

Tizzi and Bruce’s Coastal Wedding

A Coastal Hotel perfect for Tizzi and Bruce

Tizzi and Bruce viewed a few venues, unsure of the type of wedding they wanted.

"When we visited the hotel we were greeted by the doorman, who is an asset to the hotel, with his charms and manners. He makes you feel so welcome. We walked through to the bar area and it was so spacious and had a lovely friendly feeling"

Tizzi and Bruce met with the hotels in-house wedding co-ordinator who helped them throughout the whole planning process.

"We have the same dog as our photographer – so it was a no brainer really ha-ha!!"

The wedding photography was such a massive thing for Tizzi - OK Tizzi didn't really choose Joey Lamb Wedding Photography because they have the same dog! (but it helped!!) she chose him because she loved his work.

Trawling the internet for days Tizzi researched so many different photographers looking for something to pop out at her, and then came across Joey Lamb on Instagram.

"He was perfect, I loved his quirky yet natural style. I think it was the most important thing about the day (apart from Bruce (the groom) obviously)"

They both met with Joey to get to know him before the day, he made them feel at ease from the start.

"Our wedding photo album is very important to me, Joey captured our day beautifully and I will cherish those memories forever. My mum is very poorly and Joey took some very precious photos of her on the day photos I can keep forever.

Joey worked alongside our videographers, Christian and Sam! What a team they all were!"

Their theme was Woodland

Bruce is an avid shooter, so they incorporated his love of shooting into the day. The buttonholes even featured a shotgun cartridge, and the flowers were finished off with pheasant feathers and our table names were named after different makes of shotguns.

"Bruce’s best men are also shooters, so they all had shoot themed cufflinks as presents form us"

After the ceremony, their friends surprised the newlyweds with a shotgun arch!

"Our theme was fantastic, and it worked well with getting married outside"

The Dress

Tizzi dress was brand new but second hand so she didn't have the bridal shop experience. Originally from Prudence Gowns a dress by Ronald Joyce called Victoria Jane.

"I'm donating my dress to terminally ill brides to be, to make their wedding day as special as it can be"

"I don't want my dress gathering dust in the wardrobe, I felt like a princess on my wedding day and if I can pass those feelings on to someone who deserves it the most then I'll be very happy"

The company Tizzi is donating her dress to is called Wish for a Wedding.

Advice for other couples

Make time for each other!! Wedding planning is very stressful and takes up a lot of time and effort, but you must always remember to take a step back and make time for each other.

We had many date nights during the planning of our wedding

We didn’t talk about the wedding at all, just enjoyed each other’s company. Bruce was clearly fed up of me ‘banging on’ about the wedding and changing my mind constantly about ideas. This paid off though as our day was flawless!!

We surround ourselves with people who strengthened our marriage...‘It was our day’
