A St Mellion International Resort wedding. No travelling, golf and a wedding coordinator. Perfect
Charlotte and Dave live in Bude, Cornwall and the venues in that area are very popular so they wanted to look outside the box. They were looking for a venue where they could exchange vows and spend the whole day eliminating any traveling.
Charlotte's whole family have a love of golf and her brother is a PGA professional and works at St Mellion International Resort, they just had to take a look.
It had everything they wanted and the main golf club to go to in Cornwall and Devon. It catered for their big family and groups of friends and had enough alternatives for photos inside if the weather was bad.
The venue also has a wedding coordinator, so planning their wedding was stress-free.
"With its beautiful views and high standard rooms and food, we couldn’t go wrong."

Olivia WR Fine Art Photography
Their photographer was Olivia and they chose, Olivia and Tobias because they photographed a friends wedding in 2014 and they were both really impressed with their wedding photos.
"After our friend's wedding I knew that if Dave ever asked me to marry him, Olivia would be the person who I MUST have. So in 2016 Dave FINALLY asked me to marry him and within a month I booked the St Mellion International Resort and Olivia WR Fine Art Photography.
There was no way I wasn’t going to have Olivia photograph our day. Her pictures truly tell a story and are elegantly edited. My photos are out of this world and every photo she took truly captured a memory for me and Dave.
There isn't a day that goes by where I don't get emotional looking back through my wedding photos. Olivia and Tobias truly captured every moment in pure happiness and elegance. Olivia has made me feel so beautiful looking at the pictures of myself and how the pictures look so dramatic show how professional Olivia is.
Nothing was to much trouble for Olivia prior to the day and on the wedding day itself. Both her and Tobias went out of their way all day making sure we had all the pictures we wanted on the day whilst still capturing natural moments.
I cannot thank you guys enough for capturing my magical day and you have really made it memorable capturing everything you did, every photo you took now has a lasting memory for me and dave and I cannot praise you enough for that.
Anyone needing their wedding day captured look nowhere else but here, Olivia is the most amazing person for this and I can see why people rave about you!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your photos truly tell a story and look like something out of a magazine"
Charlotte chose a rose gold theme with simple nude, blush pink.
"I was never set on a colour I was always drawn to the more natural pallets hence why there was a mixture of subtle colours throughout the day."
Hair and makeup on the day, for the makeup Charlotte chose Makeup by Claudia Dymond and for her wedding hair she had Sarah Jeffery Hair
The majority of their decor the couple did themselves but did ask for specialist help from Unique Designs By Tina who helped create the look they wanted. They were responsible for the fabulous chair covers, the drapes, and paper lanterns.
The dress...and the suits
Charlotte's dress and Dave's suits were all from Prudence Gowns in Plymouth.
The couple chose a tan coloured suit which they felt really stood out and was a little different to usual suits and complimented their theme.
The amazing flowers were by their local florist Erica from Bleujen in Bude. Natural nudes, blush pinks and country purples were selected for their pallet to fit with the subtle colour theme.
The Wedding Cake
Hannah's Cornish Cake's was selected as their cake designer, It was the only choice she's a friend of the groom and extremely well known for her amazing wedding cakes!
More about The dress
Charlotte and Dave got engaged in September 2016 and Charlotte couldn't wait to try on dresses after waiting a long six years for Dave to ask her. Dave!
"So in December 2016 myself, mum and now mother in law went to Prudence Gowns in Plymouth with a set style, colour, and accessories in my head. I picked three I liked and was told to take four.
Looking around and a fourth didn’t stand out until my mum picked the one which wasn’t what I was looking for and completely different to the others"
Charlotte tried the three on which were all white with diamonte and a mermaid style, to say she was disappointed was an understatement.
"White made me look so pale and the style did nothing for me, with being a bit disheartened I tried on the fourth dress and as soon as I put it on I cried, my mum cried and so did my mother in law.
It wasn’t what I had envisioned but it was so much more. It was the complete opposite of what I liked but it was such a timeless and classic dress."
After that Charlotte went to a couple more shops in 2017 but nothing compared.
"I found myself comparing all other dresses to the one."
The dress Charlotte chose was a beautiful A-Line dress in champagne nude with ivory lace, with a sweetheart neckline.
Charlotte didn't choose any accessories she wanted to keep it simple and classy. There was no bling required, the detail on her dress stood out without the need for accessories.
Favourite part of the day
"Obviously the whole day was what I dreamed of and more but the parts which stood out to me the most was the reactions of my dad and my bridesmaids seeing me for the first time.
It rained ALL day come the evening me and Dave thought you know what ‘who cares' lets go out in the rain and have the photos. And you know what Olivia captured some amazing shots and that half hour was the most amazing time to laugh and truly enjoy that moment with my new husband, as they say 'its not rain, its cornish confetti'
Charlotte owns a dance school CJ's Dance which she opened in 2011. She got a big surprise during the evening from the girls who attend her dance classes.
As soon as Charlotte got engaged a group of dancers got together in secret to choreograph and put together a dance all dedicated to Charlotte on her wedding day. Charlotte had no idea and was completely taken by surprise as you can see in the photos!
Top tip for brides
"Enjoy every moment, take a step back and take it all in. Take 5 minutes to have quality time with each other as its YOUR day. And take risks, if its raining go outside, yes I got wet and so did my dress but you know what, I didn’t regret it and the photos reflect that."
Top tip for grooms
"For the majority of the wedding, your future wife does ALOT of the organising and decorating, but don’t forget the little things, telling your wife how amazing she looks.
Even though all your family and friends are there take any time you can with each other. And make sure all your ushers and yourself look smart and presentable on the day :D. Enjoy it as it goes so fast."
