It had to be Fowey Harbour Hotel!
When Sian and Nick first got engaged they spent a long time thinking about locations near to where they grew up in Berkshire but nothing was right.
“Nothing felt like it suited us”
Fowey had always held a special place in their hearts having spent many amazing holidays there as well as getting engaged on Readymoney Beach. The view is home to both of them. And when Sian’s parents just happened to mention that there had been a wedding at the Fowey Hotel…
“That was it, we knew that was the only place we wanted to get married. The hotel was so welcoming, the food was incredible, and nothing was too much to ask”
the amazing Absolute Canvas
“The marquee was supplied by Absolute Canvas who were amazing - always so helpful at arranging the marquee layout and organising the heating, seating, dance floor and the kitchen for our food”
Co-ordinating everything with Kathryn at the hotel and Anna from Wedding Flowers in Cornwall to make sure that everything was in place for the day.
Absolute Canvas, Kathryn and Stacey made the day, ensuring that absolutely everything was in place in the lead up to the wedding and on the day everything was in hand.
“Kathryn had thought of everything before we even thought of it - nothing was too much trouble”

Sian and Nick spent a long time looking at photographers in Cornwall and then they found Tracey
“Tracey had such a beautiful viewpoint - she captures the emotions of the couple, family and guests so beautifully in the photos and she had great reviews.
When they met Tracey at Fowey Harbour Hotel they were both so impressed that she had already looked around and found the spots that would work.
“She was so organised and you could see that on the day. We were able to get the family shots done so quickly - it was incredible!
She captures the emotion of the day and caught beautiful candid shots of us and our guests”
Tracey also made them feel at ease on the day and made sure to capture the scenery which was so important.
“We love Fowey and wanted to make sure the view of the estuary was a big part of the day too”
The theme for the day relaxed with a dark green and gold colour theme…Oh and flowers. a plethora flowers!
Sian and Nick really wanted a relaxed wedding that reflected them as a couple. The colour theme was dark green and gold with a plethora flowers! As many flowers as possible!!
The flowers…Anna from Wedding Flowers in Cornwall made the wedding
After meeting with Anna a few times before the wedding Sian was so excited about her flowers and Annas amazing ideas.
“We had peonies, stocks, ranunculus, succulents, anemones, paper whites, cow parsley and lots of eucalyptus. We had planters along the aisles, beautiful arrangements on the registrars table
The couple also arranged with Anna to move all of the flowers from the ceremony room into the marquee so they could continue to enjoy them.
“The flowers smelt incredible and it really hit you as your walked into the ceremony room- a great distraction for me as I walked nervously down the aisle”
Anna thought of everything, Sian and Nick had mercury vases for the bridesmaid bouquets, small tea-lights throughout the marquee and two decorated bay trees at the entrance to the marquee.
“The marquee looked incredible, the table arrangements and ceiling arrangement were beautiful and all of our guests were talking about stunning they were”
The Wedding cake
Sian and Nick chose Rachel from Cut Me Off A Slice to make their wedding cake tying together their gold and dark green theme with a beautifully unique four tier cake.
“We had layers of red velvet, black forest, raspberry and Prosecco and lemon and blueberry”
”She even sent us a surprise box of cake samples to try and they were all so delicious; it was hard to decide what to choose”
“The design was incredible; the dark green contrasting against the white icing with the gold leave details, it was exquisite. Rachel was amazing”
Music was a key part of the day
Sian walked down the aisle to “I want to hold you hand” by The Beatles played by 4 Strings Attached, an incredible Welsh string quartet making that moment on the day so memorable. 4 Strings Attached have an amazing repertoire from Adele to the Game of Thrones Soundtrack!
“Walking back down the aisle to the music from La La Land was so special”
Wildcard a London based band entertained the guests for the evening. With an amazing repertoire able to cater for all requests.
“They played an acoustic version of our first dance, Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News and even managed to incorporate Africa - a favourite of mine! They got the whole audience involved, even getting Nick singing, they were amazing”
The Dress
As a curvier bride Sian was very anxious about trying on the sample sizes of 10-12, don’t worry ladies as Sian discovered this is when the bridal boutique step in to help.
Sian’s dress was an A-line dress with lace bodice and chiffon skirt with a belt with jewels and pearls. Her gorgeous veil was a Vera Wang veil which was plain chiffon ending with a lace trim which in certain views looked like honeycomb, linking back to her love of bees.
”Accessories! I love leopard print so when it came to my shoes it was obvious what I would go for
“I had always had the dream of having Louboutins so I could get that shot of a snap of the red heel from under the dress. They only lasted an hour before I changed into flip flops but they were still a special part of the day”
Keeping with the gold and green theme
Sian chose gold bee earrings from Olivia Burton and a simple pearl on a gold chain that Nick had bought her.
The bridesmaids also had Olivia Burton bee jewellery which complimented their David’s Bridesmaids dresses. Sian’s bag was from Accessorize and it was cream sequinned with ‘Mrs’ embroidered on the side. It was a gift from my sister making it even more special. And finally, all wore pearl hair-pins with real freshwater pearls. Beautiful
Favourite part of the day
“It sounds like a cliché but there were so many moments. There was something so special about looking out on the balcony moments after we had become husband and wife, looking down on our guest moving from the hotel to the front lawns overlooking the estuary. It was beautiful and it felt like the whole wedding had come together just as we had dreamed of”
