Carbis Bay Hotel - a very special place
Ania and Joseph chose Carbis Bay Hotel as their wedding venue as it holds a very special place in their lives. First of all, they love the hotel's location, on a beach, Ania and Joseph both love the seaside. Carbis Bay Hotel was also the first place they stayed when they first visited St Ives. When Joseph’s mum was diagnosed with cancer in 2007, the couple came back to St Ives with their mum and close family this was to be her last trip before she passed away. Ania and Joseph wanted the wedding to reflect and remember Joseph’s mum and to turn the family memories into positive memories.
Ania is originally from Poland and it meant everything to her, for her side of the family especially her parents to come to the wedding and see Cornwall and the beauty of St Ives.
an elegant and classy wedding
The style of the wedding was elegant and classy. The flowers were delivered by Sara Wheal flowers a beautiful selection of white Jardin Rose, pink Austin Roses with bouvardia and eucalyptus. The smell was amazing it was perfect to have beautiful fresh flowers on the day of the wedding.
Victoria Walker Photography
Their wedding photographer was Victoria Walker Photography Carbis Bay hotel recommended her and when the couple looked through her work they both fell in love with the images and how she captured the whole wedding day. When they met her at the hotel they knew straight away that she would be great to work with. Very open about her approach and they both liked way she communicated and how she took all their ideas on board. Victoria asked Ania to create Pinterest board saving any ideas that she liked which she then incorporated into their wedding gallery. The couple are delighted with their wedding photos and will treasure them for the rest of their lives.
A helping hand
Coming from Kent and never planned a wedding before was a bit of a challenge. Carbis Bay Hotel stepped in and helped by recommending many local suppliers this was so helpful Ania and Joseph really didn't know anyone in St Ives.
The dress!
Ania started searching for her dream dress the minute they booked the venue, somehow she knew this was going to be a challenge! She tried on many different styles and in the end, she wanted to be a traditional bride with a romantic twist. Her dress was by Augusta Jones called Amanda and the minute she put the dress on she knew straight away it was the one. She loved how the dress represented quiet elegance. It was a strapless fit and flair gown with a neckline edge with an organza beaded trim. The dress fitted perfectly and she felt amazing.
Favourite part of the day
The ceremony and her entrance obviously! Ania was extremely nervous but so excited at the same time and she just couldn’t wait to be there and see everyone.
Top tip for brides
Just relax and have a nice bath night before the wedding day. Do not worry about anything and anyone as everything will be just perfect and just enjoy yourself. The day goes very quickly so enjoy every minute and dance all night long.
Top tip for grooms
Stay calm and do not drink the night before!
