Kerry and Jason eloped to Cornwall

Kerry and Jason fell in love with Cornwall when they spent their first holiday together in the county. When they got engaged they both decided that they wanted an elopement wedding and they chose the Watergate Bay Hotel.

A small intimate wedding at Watergate Bay Hotel

"It’s a beautiful and relaxed venue when we viewed it we knew it would be perfect for the small intimate wedding we wanted."

Wedding Photography by Wild Tide Weddings

They discovered Wild Tide Weddings work on Instagram and their website, Kerry and Jason both loved how they captured the natural colours and light of their seaside weddings.

"Their images are so bright and cheerful! And have a really good eye for detail.

We were so happy we chose Wild Tide Weddings as our photographers! They were a pleasure to have around on the day and our photos were absolutely perfect."

It had to be a beach theme wedding, nothing too 'over-the-top'

With their love of Cornwall Kerry and Jason wanted to keep things as in keeping and complimentary as possible, opting for Cornish wildflowers, soft blues as the main colour throughout, and fish and chips for dinner!

"We didn’t want too many decorations to distract from the stunning views and décor of the hotel."

George Mackay Wedding Flowers

George Mackay was chosen as their wedding florist

"Our flowers were incredible, she has a real passion and flair for what she does. They were stunning and fitted so well into our theme."

Ro Hair

"Ro Hair was also brilliant, she did an amazing job of the bridal party’s hair and is such a lovely lady."

The Dress

Kerry is not usually a dress person and being petite she also wasn’t sure what would suit her. Looking online for inspiration she loved all the tea length styles.

"My dress was the first one I tried on in a local shop and I fell in love with it! Not being very girly I loved the simple style of it. It was so comfortable on the day, and being a shorter length was great for on the beach!"

Accessories! Bespoke hairpins by Blushing Flamingos

Blushing Flamingos made Kerry's hairpins which had little blue gems and pearls in them.

"It was lovely to have bespoke ones made for me, and the service from Blushing Flamingos was so friendly and sweet."

Kerry also chose a Sophie Harley seahorse necklace and earrings which she fell in love with.

favourite part of the day

"We loved all of the day and it couldn’t have been any more perfect, and it’s hard to pick a favourite part of it!

We especially loved the ceremony; saying our vows in front of a small group of loved ones with a stunning backdrop of the sea – it was really special. I also loved that the weather was sunny so we had photos on the beach both after the service and in the evening at sunset."

Top tips

"I think my top tip is that it’s good to choose items and suppliers for your wedding which are complementary to the area/venue that you have chosen. It’s great to have some ideas of your own but to be open-minded to your supplier’s suggestions and ideas as they know what will work best for you and your venue.

Also using a spreadsheet to organise everything was a massive help!"
