They were both drawn to the natural quality of Laura’s photos; she captures people beautifully and accentuates the details of the surroundings and the feeling of the day. Laura was a delight to have around, making them feel relaxed and at ease.
The theme
Their day was jewel-themed with vibrant, rich colours and wintry foliage. They wanted their day to feel warm and welcoming, allowing their guests to feel relaxed and at home.
"Our day felt cosy, Christmassy and glamorous."
The Wedding Feast
The wedding feast included Cornish Cured Meats, crab and prawn filo tart to start and lamb rump or fillet of sea bass for the main course. For dessert, we had a delicious lemon posset or a honeycomb chocolate brownie with Cornish Ice-cream.
"The menu was excellent and varied as we had a welcome dinner the evening before and two breakfasts. All the food was wholesome; it was warming winter food with a Cornish feel."
Suppliers that really stood out!
Trevenna, Laura Buffery and Escential Blooms stood out for us as being exceptional!
Their immense experience was impossible to miss. Nothing was too much trouble, and the quality was second to none.
The Dress
Fleur was looking for something unique and glamorous, a comfortable dress - it also a showstopper.
"I found that dress in Ronald Joyce’s Celeste. The dress was fitted with a small puddle, a detachable train, and buttons all the way down the back. The bodice had a full illusion back with exquisite beading and sequins. I felt amazing in my dress and even managed some very energetic dancing towards the end of the evening!"
The Groom
The groom wore a bright blue tailcoat and trousers from Next with a white dress shirt, light beige waistcoat from Moss and a fuchsia pink tie.
Accessories
Fleur wore a pair of art deco earrings from Rose and Meadow Co on Etsy, a Birdcage veil from Indigo Daisy on Etsy and a green fur shrug. Her shoes were blush ivory suede heels from Rachel Simpson.
Fleur's favourite part of the day
"My favourite part of the day by far was the ceremony. I remember smiling throughout, and I enjoyed every minute.
We personalised our ceremony with readings from my Mum and our daughter and a song sung by one of my bridesmaids. We wrote some words to tell the story of how we got together and really had fun with it.
Our friends and family laughed with us, and the whole ceremony was fun, touching and romantic.
Coco's favourite part of the day
The ceremony too. We also both danced the night away!
Top tips.
"Picture how you want your day to go and then really enjoy the process of getting there. We prepared our day throughout the year and arranged a little bit at a time so it didn’t feel too overwhelming.
A friend advised us to really consider the ceremony and its content. We are so grateful for this advice, as it made a huge difference to our day, and we will remember it with such fondness."
