St Elizabeth House
Amy and Kris always knew they wanted St Elizabeth House as their wedding venue. They did visit a few other venues just to get an idea of other options but nothing compared.
“On arrival to our initial meeting with St Elizabeth we were met with a warm welcome and the staff were so accommodating. Plus it was local meaning all family and friends did not have to travel very far. Lastly, the venue was within budget which made it even more desirable.”

Both were in agreement that the photographer was one of the most important aspects of the day, as the photos are a forever lasting memory and Tracey Warbey's style of photography really stood out.
“The pictures were very natural and some even caught off guard which we loved as this made the photos seem more realistic and memorable.
Due to photography being quite intimate and personal at times we wanted someone who was going to have a relaxed and friendly persona but also authoritative when needed for group shots. Upon meeting Tracey she was definitely the right person for the job.”
The Theme
A winter-themed wedding without it being too Christmassy. Amy and Kris chose the date they did because they knew everyone would have finished for Christmas and would be in the mood to let their hair down.
“We have a very simplistic taste when it comes to decor so we wanted to incorporate this into our wedding whilst staying true to the time of year.”
impeccable suppliers
“The suppliers that we did use really stood out to us for their impeccable reviews and were very accommodating when it came to our chosen theme.”
DIY…getting creative
“We did a lot of the supplying ourselves with the mother of the bride making our dream wedding cake and the mother of the groom making the confetti from flower petals. We also created our own seating chart and wedding favours gathering our inspiration from Pinterest.”
The dress!
“The saying is true, you know as soon as you put a dress on whether it is the dress for you! I absolutely loved my dress.”
The little lace sleeves were her favourite part of the dress!! And it was the only one left in the shop Amy felt like it was meant to be.
A Princess
As soon as Amy put her dress on she turned to her sister and said…
“I feel like Belle from Beauty and the Beast ( I officially felt like a Princess) I had not seen that style of dress before so I was happy to be wearing a dress I felt like was made just for me.”
accessories
Amy chose to wear jewelled studded earrings on the day. Her Bridesmaids also wore the same earrings but in an alternative style. The earrings gave the right amount of bling for the look that Amy wanted on the day. The Veil she wore was the first veil she had tried on.
“I always wanted a floor length veil, that was something I didn't want to compromise on!”
Amy also wore a garter, this was her something borrowed and something blue. The garter was given to her Mum on her wedding day to Amy’s Step Dad - a blue flower had been stitched into it taken from the bridesmaid dress Amy wore at age of three at her Auntie Rachael’s wedding.
Favourite part of the day
“We had both been planning, saving and organising for a year leading up to our special day that we both thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Being able to enjoy all the hard work we had put into the day and watching it unfold with our family and close friends was what we loved most.”
top tips and advice for other couples
“Set a realistic budget and time frame. Saving was probably one of the most stressful things leading up to the wedding, but allowing yourselves time will definitely help.
Planning as a couple and making decisions together is definitely easier than one making all the choices and the other nodding in agreement, the day is for both of you to enjoy!
The biggest advice we would give is to arrange a getaway if you're not planning on a honeymoon straight away as this prolongs this special time and allows you both to relax and enjoy each others company as Husband and Wife! We arranged a no expense spared relaxing spa break which was much needed and thoroughly enjoyed.”
