Carbis Bay Hotel Estate the perfect location
Carbis Bay Hotel Estate and Spa was the perfect location for Debbie and Hannah. They spoke about a number of different ideas and places, and they both knew they wanted to to be by the sea. When visiting Carbis Bay and meeting with the wedding team, their decision was easy!
Hannah proposed on a Christmas bauble on December 1st 2018, so when Carbis Bay had the date they wanted available it all worked out perfectly.
“Ria and the team were amazing. At our first meeting, we had a rough idea of what we wanted but as the time goes on and the planning starts, more ideas got added. The team at Carbis Bay were brilliant and nothing was ever a problem. The night before and on the day, all the team were outstanding and ensured everything went without a hitch. The food was delicious and the venue looked stunning. We can't thank them enough for helping to make our day special.
Marrying your best friend in the most beautiful location is just magical.”

Wedding Table and Seating Plan: The Ultimate Guide
Tom Robinson Photography
"One of the hardest decisions we had to make - where to start? The list is endless!"
Taking their time together they went through galleries and there was something about Tom Robinson Photography that stood out...and then one of their friends mentioned him during a wedding planning conversation, they decided to contact him.
“We meet him and went through our ideas and Tom listened and worked with us to see our vision. We were always in contact, went for a pre-shoot to get used to working with Tom. We didn’t regret our decision. We highly recommend him, he is great, makes you and your guests feel at ease.”
A Christmas winter wedding
Winter is their favourite season, and with the date being close to Christmas Carbis Bay had decorated the hotel so beautifully for the festive season - it was exactly what they wanted. The cosy feel and the beautiful setting in and around the hotel was perfect for their warm, rustic vision.
Each table had wooden lanterns, candles and kiln jars with fairy lights as centre-pieces. The favours were homemade hot chocolate kits with candy canes. Wooden crates were used to display their table plan and rustic wooden decorations all helped to create the warm, cosy Christmas feel they wanted.
Flowers
“Our Pinterest boards were covered in ideas!”
They met with Lizi from Wheal Sara Flowers and spoke about their vision, showed her their ideas and she captured it perfectly.
flowers to complement their Christmas, winter vibe
Debbie and Hannah wanted the flowers to really complement their Christmas, winter vibe. Debbie has a Scottish background so they wanted in incorporate a thistle, giant red and pink roses were used to go with their flower girl dresses, eucalyptus and berries were also used to complete the beautiful bouquets
“When the flowers arrived with Lizi on the day they looked stunning and smelt amazing. Lizi was brilliant and we can highly recommend Wheal Sara Flowers.”
The Dresses
Being two brides and living away from their parents they wanted to share the dress shopping with their mums.
Hannah went up to see her mum and choose her perfect dress in Newcastle. Debbie’s mum loves a visit to Cornwall so wedding dress shopping was another reason to visit.
“I had been to a couple of boutiques but found my perfect dress with Elaine Rawlings. She was AMAZING. Elaine listens and helps you find the perfect style for you. The dress was by Justin Alexander and was just what I was looking for."
best decision
“We both wore personalised converse, one of the best decisions we made. It was personal to us and we were comfy all day!”
Favourite part
“Wow, where to start. So many favourite parts of the day to chose from, our families are spread all over the country and world, so for us, it really was having and seeing everyone we love all in one room sharing their time with us on our special day creating memories.
We love fireworks so they had to be booked. The fireworks were a surprise for our guests, as we were outside doing sparklers they went off from the beach over the sea. Was a magical moment. Defiantly a highlight of the day.
We booked a photo booth which was just brilliant. The pictures were endless and were all included in our package. Being on the coast we chose the VW, which suited our venue. The Yellow Booth company were fantastic.”
Top tips
The planning: "Don’t stress to much, everything will fall into place. The vision in your head will always work out.
On the day: When people say the day fly’s by, it really does. Find time to just sit back and relax and take the time to take it all in and see everyone enjoying themselves. Find time for the two of you as well, try to grab half an hour, as the hellos and sharing drinks with loved ones means you hardly see each other throughout the evening.
It’s the best day of your life and you get to share it with loved ones. Have fun, enjoy and laugh endlessly”
