Ta Mill Di and Des

Ta Mill a quiet rural venue with a relaxed atmosphere

Di and Des chose Ta Mill because they both wanted a quiet rural place with a relaxed atmosphere, somewhere for their guests to stay, all their guests in one place ready for the big day and Ta Mill was perfect.

“We wanted a place that would do everything the ceremony and reception and Ta Mill was lovely, so peaceful with a lovely big old house and lots of different types of accommodations from cottages to lodges. Helen was a great host and helped us to achieve everything we wanted for our wedding weekend.”

Wild and Free photography

Di and Des choose Janna from Wild and Free photography because she was down to earth and answered their many questions when they met her first at a wedding fair

“She was the perfect fit for our wedding as we wanted our photos to be as natural as possible, and capture people as they are without the feel of people having to try hard to pose, she did an amazing job.”

Theme

Their theme for the day was eco rustic, a theme they felt fitted perfectly with their venue. The decor included hessian bunting and table runners, willow hearts, natural flowers with a mixture of bright flowers and many milk churns! Milk churns dotted everywhere mini milk churns and big ones.

“We also wanted it to be a fun, chilled relax wedding so that everyone could mingle and enjoy themselves.”

Creating the perfect day!

Di and Des would agree that all their suppliers stood out and helped create their perfect day. Floral Designs created the beautiful bouquets

Wood Fired Kitchen

There were so many reasons why Di and Des chose Wood Fired Kitchen, firstly they were recommended, during some online research they discovered Mark had worked with Rick Stein!

“We then met Mark at a wedding fair, he was so interested in our ideas for the food we wanted for our special day. Over time we shared different ideas and he was so easy to work with we just knew he wanted our menu to be as much of a success as we did.”

On the menu were delicious canapés, two choices for the main meal and a delicious trio of desserts.

The Cake

A beautiful wedding cake by Claire’s Sweet Temptations Di and Des requested three different flavours finished in butter icing.

“All three cakes were devoured!”

The Dress

Di chose a beautiful non-satin dress, with a detailed sequin bodice, Di also wore a headband with sequins and cubic Zirconia and sequin hairpin.

favourite part of the day

“Everything was so special, I would say my favourite part was for my Mum to be able to walk me down the aisle and was able to see us get married.

Also, we had five amateur chefs who wore silly fun aprons chosen carefully for each character. Their job was to carve the meat for each of their dinner guests on their table - a real talking point. We were also so happy we chose a caricature artist who managed to capture our guests full of laughter and fun.”

Top tips

“Be sure of what you really want and keep it simple, it will be, so easy to plan and enjoy planning it. I would easily love to do it all over again as it was great fun and relaxing.”
