Sam and Steve’s Castle Wedding
A Castle wedding
Sam and Steve chose their castle venue for two reasons, everything was all in one place and its location.
“The selling point of this place for us were the grounds, wow they are beautiful!
When we drove up the drive I could see our wedding photos from that moment, also it was a perfect fit for my dress that I had already chosen.”
The events team couldn’t do enough and the package they offered catered for everything. although Sam tweaked a few things.
“The ladies in the events team couldn’t have been happier to help. We had two ladies running our day event and one for the evening. It was seamless, they work so incredibly hard, I think they deserve medals.”
Given Sam could already visualise the day as they entered the grounds she knew they needed someone who could deal with last-minute changes and someone who could see the fun, special and the treasured moments most would miss.
“Janssen Cruz was amazing and he knew the grounds and after a phone call we were on the same page. he knew exactly what we wanted ( I wanted, hubby agreed!). Janssen just got us and was so polite and helpful. He gave us ideas on what and where to go and do. Our photos are just perfect and everything I had hoped for and more.”
simple, elegant and relaxed
Sam and Steve didn’t have a theme but Sam knew she wanted simple, elegant and yet relaxed to fit the venue and them as a couple.
“I didn’t want our wedding to be stiff nor un-personal. One of our guests described it as “a rich and lovely day with the sun shining upon us all”. From that comment, I think we got it right.”
Sam chose a Ronald Joyce dress called Amanda from Fleur de lys in Saffron Waldon
“The boutique was amazing. The dress wasn’t out on display but I found it hidden waiting to be put out, I wish I could wear it daily.”
Sam was given a few names for hair and makeup by the events team at the venue, Sam then found Kimberly Holland on Facebook.
“We spoke over the phone (we are from Essex). I was drawn to her reassuring confidence in her ability to provide perfection. So I booked a trial for the weekend we went to view the venue. I am so pleased I did.
Kimberly has a true talent to take the vision from a rough description ( I didn’t even have a photo it was all in my head ) and create it she gave me advice on what would look better adding layers to my hair to make it sit better, then the makeup I wanted and a natural yet elegant look for the day.”
Sam along with her mum and Aunt planned a trip to Kimberly’s salon the day before.
“Kimberly hosted us and couldn’t have done more if she had tried, my aunt is quite a shy older lady and she felt at complete ease by Kimberly’s warm approachable nature, nothing is too much for this lady. We left there feeling amazing, we couldn’t have been happier with our treatments.”
Curveballs. No problem for Kimberly Holland
Sam being Sam threw a couple of curveballs calling Kimberley the night before the wedding asking for a few more ladies to be “squeezed” Kimberley had gone from doing four sets of hair and makeup to an additional four!
“My Great Aunt came over to me later in the day and said how wonderful Kimberley was and she was very pleased.
The venue have since added Kimberly to their recommendations list. The events team were so impressed with her manner, creations and way of dealing with my rather naughty four-year-old niece.”
Favourite part of the day
"For Steve, my husband (still feels odd saying that) is still super impressed with Janssen our photographer and his favourite part of the day was when Janssen got the drone out!
My favourite part of the day, I loved every minute of getting ready and even before I had my dress on Kimberly made me feel amazing like a real princess. For Kimberly Holland, nothing is too much, she strives for pure perfection."
“If I could give any advice to anyone else arranging their wedding, I think it would behave a spreadsheet and only worry about what you want everyone is there for the both of you and enjoy it”
