Rebecca and Sam’s Romantic Country House Wedding
Rebecca and Sam both fell in love with their romantic country house
Rebecca and Sam met at university in Exeter so it was an easy choice for them to decide to get married in that area.
"The House was the first venue that we saw and we just fell in love with it; we knew we had to have our wedding there!"
Rebecca knows Alisa Alisa Roberts Photography from her home town.
"She has photographed a few of my friend's weddings and I love her relaxed style. She’s great at interacting with the guests, makes you feel super relaxed and really captures the vibe of the day – and the photos have turned out beautifully!"
The theme was vintage glam
The couple based the theme around the atmosphere of the House, as well as creating a very relaxed, fun day for our guests.
The Cake by Claire's Sweet Temptations
"As soon as I spoke to Claire I knew she was the person I wanted to make our cake!"
Claire really understood their theme and what Rebecca wanted to achieve; the flowers she styled for their cake matched the real flowers perfectly.
"Claire was also great at communicating throughout the whole planning process, and I was confident she could achieve our vision – and she did!"
A big shout out to their suppliers
"As well as our photographer Alisa and Claire’s cake, our band The Viscounts were just spectacular! The food from Dartmoor Kitchen was beautiful, and our photo booth from Smiley Booth was also a great hit.
"I also can’t thank the team at our venue (especially Jo) enough!"
Rebecca went dress shopping with her Mum, Nan, Aunt and Maid of Honour.
"I wasn’t even going to try the dress on to start with, as it was completely the opposite to what I wanted, but the dress shop recommended that I did I just fell in love with it!"
The dress matched the vintage theme of the house perfectly and made her feel super glamorous at the same time the dress was by Sottero and Midgely from Romsey Bridal
favourite part of the day
My favourite part of the day was the ceremony – it was the part I was most nervous about, however as soon as I walked down the aisle and saw Sam’s face, and all of our friends and relatives, everything just fell into place. Sam’s was the live band and everyone having a good time on the dance floor.
"Two pieces of advice – firstly, relax! Even if something goes wrong, other people won’t notice.
Secondly – hire a good videographer! The day goes so quickly and you won’t be able to take everything in, so I’m really looking forward to some of the moments that were captured.
