Bickleigh Castle Holly and Matthew
Holly and Matthew chose Bickleigh Castle for their day, they wanted a venue with romance and history Bickleigh Castle was perfect. They hired the whole castle for the weekend so all their family and friends could be together
Holly with help from her mum, Tracie planned everything including all the personal touches of the day. Bickleigh Castle also offer a wedding planner, Marie.
"Marie did an amazing job she made sure everything was as it was meant to be and made sure we were happy, she was fantastic"
The couples theme was "soft romance". The colour scheme was champagne gold and blush pink which ran through everything, the flowers, the decorations, and the bridesmaids dresses giving the day the romantic look Holly had always wanted.
Being a hairdresser Holly has known for years the look she wanted for her big day! Her friend Martyn Harding from M Harvey Hair did her and her mums hair, the other twenty-two friends and family ( 22?! WOW ) were styled by the girls from Holly's very own salon Hair @ One
The Dress. The beautiful dress was handmade by Sassi Holford, Holly knew exactly what she wanted and the dress was perfect. After trying on three other dresses and not being happy Holly just knew her dress had to be handmade.
The couple selected all of their closest friends and family and their children as their bridesmaids. They love them all and simply couldn't leave anyone out! They had thirteen bridesmaids! OMG!!
The bridesmaids dresses were all different, a dress was chosen to suit each bridesmaid, their colour and shape and each wore a different colour. The colours were chosen carefully, they all had to work perfectly together. They also all had their hair and make up done and wore jewellery to match their dress.
The grooms party all six main men had matching grey suits hired from Moss Boss with blush pink cravats.
The flowers! Blooms of Exeter worked with large bunches of Gipsophilia tied with long satin ivory ribbons and Holly's bouquet also had large blush pink roses. The button holes and corsages were styled to match.
On the day.
"The morning of the wedding was extremely busy twenty-two ladies to get ready for hair and make up so I was kept busy I felt excited and I was really looking forward to seeing Matt I didn’t feel nervous at all.
When I was waking down the aisle I enjoyed every second it was so lovely to see everyone you love in one room"
After the ceremony in the great hall the newly weds and guests all moved to the chapel for a blessing and then enjoyed champagne on the lawn for photos before the wedding breakfast.
The couple hired It’s Your Day to decorate everywhere using the colour scheme which added to the romance all rooms!
"It looked beautiful"
The cake. Made by their friends at Going Like Hot Cakes...are you ready for this?
'It was 5ft tall, it lit up and had a working water feature it was amazing!"
The speeches. Father of the bride, the joint best men, the groom and Holly all gave a speech. Holly also read a poem one she had written for her mum.
Bridal top tip. I wish I’d known how quick the day goes. No mishaps at all at any time on the day or the weekend.
